  • Approximately 3.55 persons were killed each day.
  • One person was killed every 6.76 hours.
  • There were 187.75 persons injured every day.
  • One person injured every 7.67 minutes.
  • Drinking drivers were involved in 5.49% of all crashes.
  • Drinking drivers were involved in 23.73% of all fatalities.
  • Over 78.90% of all drinking drivers involved in crashes were males.
  • Rural crashes accounted for 17.33% of all crashes and over 53.70% of all fatal crashes.
  • 71.9% of all crashes occurred during the daylight hours between 6:00 am & 6:00 pm.
  • Motor vehicle crashes resulted in $3.67 billion in economic loss to Arizona.
  • Motor vehicle crashes killed 56 children and injured 5,638 children, age 14 and younger.
